Driven by 18 Taiwanese students and two professors from National Central University, this trilingual production explores AI creativity and the delicate balance between tradition and modernity.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u00ab\u00a0I-Bridities\u00a0\u00bb project and its play <em>The Taming of a Dream Weaver<\/em> is an innovative initiative. Centering on hybridity, the project lives up to its name as it stems from a collaboration between the Department of Optics and Photonics and the Department of French at National Central University, Taiwan. The play brings together disciplines that rarely collaborate, just as the participating students come from diverse academic backgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among them are 13 undergraduate students from the interdisciplinary course \u00ab\u00a0Optical Art and Artificial Intelligence\u00a0\u00bb and five members of the university&rsquo;s theater club, <em>Theater Together<\/em>. Whether newcomers to performing arts or more experienced in the field, they succeeded\u2014under the guidance of professors Chii-Chang Chen and Nicolas Drouet\u2014in pooling their knowledge. Together, they took on roles as actors and crew to create a fully hybrid production combining technology and artistic performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By integrating artificial intelligence into its creative process, this project questions the role of technology in our lives and introduces fresh ideas to the arts. This hybrid and innovative approach addresses contemporary issues raised by technologies while intertwining them with cultural heritage. The encounter between modernity and tradition mirrors the hybrid nature of the project, where technologies coexist with cultural references.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Meeting of Cultures and AI<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The play <em>The Taming of a Dream Weaver<\/em> exemplifies the new challenges posed by artificial intelligence in the cultural field, particularly in theatrical art. Through this project, the Taiwanese students present a multicultural work blending French and Chinese influences while exploring the relationship between humans and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This production can be seen as a cultural dialogue, intertwining Chinese and French, two languages with vastly different roots. Supported by the French Institute and the French Office in Taipei, the initiative promotes learning and artistic expression in French, a language relatively unfamiliar to Taiwanese students. Thus, this isn\u2019t merely a fusion of humans and machines, but also an exchange of cultures and traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The curious collaboration between AI and students takes shape through text fragments and projected images. This innovative method expands the realm of possibilities through the limitless imagination and creativity of AI, sparking both admiration and apprehension for this emerging technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The contradictions at the heart of the play\u2014human\/machine, human\/animal, actor\/spectator\u2014are heightened by its reference to <em>Rhinoceros<\/em> by Eug\u00e8ne Ionesco, adapted for the age of algorithms and artificial intelligence. This intersection of tradition and modernity is reflected in the title <em>The Taming of a Dream Weaver<\/em>, which blends cultural references such as Shakespeare\u2019s works and Ionesco\u2019s plays. The production invites us to question the role of technology in shaping our identities and communication. Ultimately, it reflects society and raises awareness about the impact of technology on our lives. At the same time, it shows that technology can be a valuable tool in the arts to reimagine classic works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Artificial Intelligence: Cultural Revolution or \u201cThreat\u201d to Humanity?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Integrating AI into the play opens the door to profound reflections on the role of technology in art. Balancing fascination and apprehension, AI disrupts traditional cultural norms and prompts us to rethink our approach to creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The play doesn\u2019t merely use AI as a tool; it elevates it to the status of a true protagonist and co-creator. The AI-generated texts and projected images are not mere stage props but integral narrative elements that enrich the story. This human-machine collaboration pushes the boundaries of imagination and offers new artistic perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Echoing Eug\u00e8ne Ionesco&rsquo;s <em>Rhinoceros<\/em>, the play highlights the risks of dehumanization and cultural identity loss in the face of advancing technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AI\u2019s impact on culture is twofold. On one hand, it offers unprecedented opportunities, pushing the limits of creativity. Port\u00e9e par 18 \u00e9tudiants ta\u00efwanais et deux enseignants de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Nationale Centrale, cette \u0153uvre trilingue explore la cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 de l\u2019IA et le fragile \u00e9quilibre entre tradition et modernit\u00e9.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le projet \u00ab\u00a0I-bridit\u00e9s\u00a0\u00bb et sa pi\u00e8ce <em>Le songe d&rsquo;une M\u00e9lang\u00e8re apprivois\u00e9e<\/em> est une initiative innovante. Pla\u00e7ant l\u2019hybridit\u00e9 au centre, ce projet porte bien son nom puisqu\u2019il est n\u00e9 d\u2019une collaboration entre le d\u00e9partement d\u2019optique-photonique et le d\u00e9partement fran\u00e7ais de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncu.edu.tw\/en\/pages\/index.php?num=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>National Central University<\/strong><\/a> (l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Nationale Centrale de Ta\u00efwan). Cette pi\u00e8ce m\u00e9lange donc plusieurs disciplines que l\u2019on aurait difficilement imagin\u00e9es collaborer, tout comme les \u00e9tudiants de parcours acad\u00e9miques vari\u00e9s.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parmi eux, 13 \u00e9tudiants de licence du cours interdisciplinaire \u201cArt optique et Intelligence Artificielle\u201d et 5 \u00e9tudiants de l\u2019association th\u00e9\u00e2trale de l\u2019universit\u00e9 : <em>Theater Together<\/em>. Malgr\u00e9 des niveaux d&rsquo;exp\u00e9riences diff\u00e9rents, d\u00e9butants ou confirm\u00e9s, les participants ont collabor\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019encadrement de <strong>Chii-Chang Chen<\/strong> et<strong> Nicolas Drouet<\/strong>. Ensemble, les \u00e9tudiants ont occup\u00e9 divers r\u00f4les, acteurs ou techniciens, pour cr\u00e9er une pi\u00e8ce hybride alliant technologie et performance artistique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En int\u00e9grant l\u2019intelligence artificielle dans son processus de cr\u00e9ation, ce projet questionne le r\u00f4le de la technologie dans nos vies et ouvre de nouvelles id\u00e9es dans le domaine artistique. Ce m\u00e9lange hybride et&nbsp;innovant permet alors de traiter des enjeux contemporains soulev\u00e9s par les technologies, tout en se m\u00ealant \u00e0 la culture. Cette rencontre entre modernit\u00e9 et tradition refl\u00e8te l\u2019hybridation du projet o\u00f9 les technologies coexistent avec les r\u00e9f\u00e9rences culturelles.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rencontre entre culture et IA&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>La pi\u00e8ce de th\u00e9\u00e2tre <em>Le songe d\u2019une M\u00e9lang\u00e8re apprivois\u00e9e<\/em> illustre parfaitement les nouveaux enjeux de l&rsquo;intelligence artificielle dans le domaine culturel, et plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment dans l\u2019art th\u00e9\u00e2tral. En effet, les \u00e9tudiants taiwanais nous offrent une \u0153uvre multiculturelle, m\u00ealant la France et Ta\u00efwan, tout en interrogeant la relation entre l\u2019humain et la technologie.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette pi\u00e8ce peut \u00eatre qualifi\u00e9e de dialogue culturel, m\u00ealant le chinois, le fran\u00e7ais et l&rsquo;anglais. Soutenue par <strong>l\u2019Institut Fran\u00e7ais et le Bureau Fran\u00e7ais de Taipei<\/strong>, cette initiative valorise l\u2019apprentissage et l\u2019expression artistique en fran\u00e7ais, une langue peu famili\u00e8re pour les \u00e9tudiants taiwanais. Ce n\u2019est donc pas qu\u2019une simple fusion entre l\u2019humain et les machines, mais un \u00e9change de cultures et traditions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La curieuse collaboration entre l\u2019IA et les \u00e9tudiants prend la forme de parties de textes et d\u2019images projet\u00e9es. Cette approche \u00e9largit ainsi le champ des possibles gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019imagination et la cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 infinie de l\u2019IA, suscitant un m\u00e9lange d\u2019admiration et de crainte face \u00e0 cette technologie \u00e9mergente.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce m\u00e9lange de contradiction : <strong>humain\/machine, humain\/animal, acteur\/spectateur<\/strong>, est au c\u0153ur de la pi\u00e8ce accentu\u00e9e par la r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 <em>Rhinoc\u00e9ros<\/em> d\u2019Eug\u00e8ne Ionesco \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e8re des algorithmes, qui<strong> illustre la rencontre entre traditions et modernit\u00e9<\/strong>. C\u2019est donc finalement un reflet de notre soci\u00e9t\u00e9, et une prise de conscience de son r\u00f4le \u00e0 jouer dans nos vies. Cependant, cette pi\u00e8ce de th\u00e9\u00e2tre nous prouve \u00e9galement que les technologies peuvent \u00eatre un bon outil dans l\u2019art, pour revisiter des \u0153uvres classiques.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>L&rsquo;intelligence artificielle : r\u00e9volution culturelle ou \u201cmenace\u201d pour l&rsquo;humanit\u00e9 ?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;int\u00e9gration de l&rsquo;intelligence artificielle dans la pi\u00e8ce ouvre la voie \u00e0 une r\u00e9flexion profonde sur le r\u00f4le de la technologie dans l&rsquo;art. Entre fascination et appr\u00e9hension, l&rsquo;IA bouleverse les codes culturels traditionnels et nous invite \u00e0 repenser notre rapport \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La pi\u00e8ce ne se contente pas d&rsquo;utiliser l&rsquo;IA comme un simple outil ; elle l&rsquo;\u00e9rige en v\u00e9ritable protagoniste, co-cr\u00e9ateur de l&rsquo;\u0153uvre. Les textes g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9s et les images projet\u00e9es par l&rsquo;intelligence artificielle ne sont pas de simples accessoires sc\u00e9niques, mais des \u00e9l\u00e9ments narratifs \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re qui enrichissent le r\u00e9cit. Cette collaboration homme-machine repousse les limites de l&rsquo;imagination et ouvre de nouvelles perspectives artistiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En faisant \u00e9cho \u00e0 <em>Rhinoc\u00e9ros <\/em>d\u2019Eug\u00e8ne Ionesco, la pi\u00e8ce met en lumi\u00e8re le risque de d\u00e9shumanisation et la perte d&rsquo;identit\u00e9 culturelle face \u00e0 la mont\u00e9e en puissance de la technologie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;impact de l&rsquo;IA sur la culture est donc double. D&rsquo;un c\u00f4t\u00e9, elle offre des opportunit\u00e9s in\u00e9dites, permettant de repousser les fronti\u00e8res de la cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9.
